Michael Capellas, CEO Compaq Computers: CPQ

Michael Capellas, CEO Compaq Computers, provides the outlook for his company at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland:

-Strong growth even in a slowing PC market

-50% of the business comes from servers and high end products

-Ongoing strategy is to drive the enterprise side of business

-Concerned about general economic conditions, but expects recovery in second half of the year due to tax cuts and lower interest rates

-Projects 8% growth for next year

13%-15% growth in servers and high end of business, as infrastructure, driven by telecommunications, rolls out

6%-8% growth on the service side of business

3%-5% growth on the PC side

-Sees huge market momentum and emphasizes the ability to leverage service side of business to profitability
