Michael, You are right, long term is what matters. I wonder where this data is from. Regarding the 1/4 point, one of those former Fed governors I saw on TV yesterday argued that there is no way Greenspan is going with 1/4 point. He said the Fed watches the market action as well considering all the other data, and is well aware that a cut of less than 50 bp would cause a market selloff. He said that would cause damage to the recovery and therefore Greenspan would not go for that. Hope he is right. John
