As was pointed out by someone else on the thread, if you compare to U.S. wages and standards, these offshore mfg concerns are going to look pretty bad. But if you compare to other domestic (from their perspective) mfg employers, they are in line with local wages and standards. I doubt that Nike or Mattel or whoever is holding a gun to anyone's head. Can you tell me how it would benefit the Malaysian people who are working at the "Hot Wheels" manufacturing facility of Mattel pulled their operation out of Malaysia?
