Brooke,

I've very little experience with MACD or Momentum but always interested in learning.

Here's my take on the MACD(21,34,5) which btw might not be correct but it mimics it close enough for my question. It appears the 2nd number is smoothed by the 3rd number. Is that correct?

It looks like the first number 21 could be eliminated because the slope isn't consistent enough to take a direction reading from. This is the blue line btw. It's also a poor crossover signal because red 34 will follow blue 21 soon after the cross.

I think slope of the red line is a good signal by itself and guessing again that's average(average(c,34),5). If that's correct I'd begin tweaking that line and toss the rest.

I know the convergence divergence plot was set to hidden so those aspects might be somewhere in the mix doing something important I know nothing about.

Help me out.

i think you were real close with the 20/40 guess brooke. i like 21/34/5 but numbers don't match with the side scale, 19/38 is close but i'll go with 21/42/5 even though it is not exact either...

wondering...
