Started building an INTC short position this morning with a sell of 1000 shares at 37 5/8. I will continue selling all the way into the high $40s, cover in the mid $20s.

Regards,

Kap

John,

re: Intel's other businesses

It's easy to dismiss the analyst's opinions in that article, but one thing does stand out in the article and Intel's earnings reports. The losses in Intel's fastest growing divisions are increasing. That's a major, not minor concern.

Intel doesn't provide any detail on the new businesses. It's an act of shareholder faith in Intel management to believe that these businesses will turn profitable.

Do you have any suggestions on where an investor could go for a more balanced analysis of Intel "other"?

John

Reporter seeks out former-AMD employee turned analyst - and a not very well respected one - to spin some negative quotes.

For years Ashok Kumar, a former Intel employee, not only made negative comments about AMD but called it a clown company. Did you discount his statements based on his previous employment?

not that I want to argue the "spin some negative quotes" bit but would rather hear an assurance from you that chip market is stronger than ever and that the old intel growth is sustainable for years to come :-))
