he said 'banks should not get restrictive in their lending at this juncture', more or less. he didn't mention enterprises that are not creditworthy outright

so who's benefit is he saying that for? to show that he doesn't think a confidence crisis is developing or to reassure the banks of a bailout, once again and without a doubt? The banks are going to do whatever they want, there are no repercussions for them...if they fail, they will say they failed doing their jobs, with the full blessing of the fed. I read the ideas behind the newly proposed version of the Basel accord, that's some scary shit there...I am hoping the crisis occurs well before 2004 when they plan to implement, if it doesn't we will all be bankrupt and out of put ammo anyway -g-
