C.B. You probably have the most reasonable approach to this market. Personally, I'm not adroit enough to catch the moves after they are underway, so I'm trying to read the trends and either stay more heavily invested (as now), or lighten up a bit ( like if we hit 3000)...
Example: today LTXX popped up to a new recovery high, and I have several k shares of the troublesome little fellow... I don't think I could have been nimble enough to catch it. I'll be lightening up above 20, as I'm afraid I won't be smart enough to pick up on the move to retest lows.... I guess that makes the risk component of my risk/reward ratio a lot higher than necessary.... but it's what I can handle.
BTW, had nice moves in some of the junk today -- ACRU, NEON, CAMP, CYMI, ELNT, LTXX all moved nicely upwards.... another 8-10 months of this could make a person well <gg.
