Bush can either act like a Republican president or just do whatever the Democrats want. I don't see much incentive for him to do the later.

That's true...but the smart guy would play to the Democrats with his appointments so that he can get a second 4 year term. But the way he's playing it now will insure that the very deep wound caused by this past election remains open......which, of course, is fine by me.
