Could be. But a broader product sometimes is a disservice, because it may do many things well, but nothing exceptionally well. We'll see if this strategy works. I own some Nortel too, so I'd like to see them do well.

Jack of all trades type products usually fail. I think NT is trying to do to much with one box.... the result will likely be poor performance... complexity... unneccessary features (for some applications), and perhaps too expensive when compared against mission specific devices. Just an opinion... as you said, time will tell.
