laodeng, about GPRS.

There are two parts about GPRS, the networks part and the radio side.

The networks part is more inline with the future WCDMA networks, because current GSM systems have no packet switched networks so the build out on that part is a must, however there will be more developments coming once the real WCDMA coming in. But they can still use the same infrastructures.

On the radio side, things are more interesting, the GSM guys think they can simply add more timeslots and then they will have the things going. So it turns out they are just dreaming.

Let me give you an analogy here. It's like you think you can replace your bike wheels with goodyear(or firestone<gg>) and you think you can fly up and down on to the highways.
