We agree. I understand the complexity of the issue to the degree that I don't argue the liberal position on denying MFN status. I feel deeply ambivalent, and suspicious of everyone's motives, and too ignorant to be able to guess what different policies will bring, but I want humane results in the end more than I want clean hands now, and I suspect engagement is more likely to bring that.

Slaves are different than labor, though.
