I am sure the Christian right helped make Bush president- but a lot of moderates also helped. My hope is they will be disillusioned- this religious initiative was a poor first move since it was bound to be divisive- especially since it steps on the toes of the constitution. It must be almost irresistible for Presidents to do stupid things full of hubris the minute they assume office. Clinton did, and now Bush. Must be the intoxication of power.
