usually experience teaches us not to be too arrogant?

Unless rather than 20 years of experience, it's one year repeated 20 times.

My experience is that fewer vendor boxes and fewer vendor interfaces almost always reduces complexity, reduces overall cost, and, increases performance.

<ot>Hi guys - sorry to butt in and what I am going to say has no bearing on anyone here. There is a different between confidence and arrogance. I think people like Mr Chambers and Mr Roth are supremely confident individuals. OTOH, there are 100s of CEOs of failed companies who got lucky once or twice and they thought they had the right stuff. In the end, their ego, as reflected in their arrogance, destroys their company and ruin many lives.

best, Bosco
