No Bosco, this wouldn't have happened if Naveen stepped away because he already did a while ago. If you remember correctly, he let Surin, Russ, etc run all aspects of INSP and he stepped down. (have levy dig into the facts and I'm sure that you will find that he had Russ and Surin sign non-competes because Naveen ain't no fool).
My take on this soap opera is that his plan was to start a new business in the same arena as INSP and revitalize his ego from the ground using his expertise in this area and the gob of money that he make cashing in shares of INSP last year. But then Surin tells him that he is stepping down, so Naveen goes to Russ and says "Congratulations Russ, Surin is stepping down and you are the logical replacement as CEO".....
Russ says "Sure Naveen my brother, I would be honored to take on the position....all I would like from you is to sign your name below this here non-compete clause in this contract so that I can be assured that you support INSP 100% and would not even entertain the idea of starting a new company which might be a threat to our success."
Naveen immediately goes for Russ' throat, but Russ dives aside and delivers a swift blow to Jain's kidney before making his exit.
The next morning Russ is given a red card for his actions on the playing field and must sit out of all internet related business for quite some time due to previous legally binding agreements developed during the "merger".

When russ does return to the field however, I hope that he slide tackles the sh*t out of that punk Naveen.
