Pete,

Actually, I read somewhere that China's arsenal of intercontinental ballistic missiles is limited, far below US and Russia. I don't know what the latest numbers are, and I am aware of the fact that China is in the middle of huge arms buildup.

This system would actually stabilize the power structure and still allow MAD to work with both Russia and China as both could easily overwhelm the system with a massive "First Strike" of their nuclear missiles. Russia has a system deployed to protect Moscow.

Pete,

So the rest of Russia would be obliterated but Moscow would be saved.......wonderful. The world has been discussing these issues for so long we no longer see their lunacy.

Given the current potency of our weapons, what makes you think that any Muscovites would want to live after the strike was over....or for that matter, what Americans?

In spite of the Reagan defense theory devised by that genius of politics and the tube, there is little evidence that all of these defense systems push the world forward.
