never use them as a stand alone signal. LG, glad you added that because if not you would be spelling "whipsaw" for the last 9 mths or so going either direction. Monty

LG, Glad to hear you like those parameters and thanks for the stand alone signal reprimand or warning, it's appreciated. I looked up the formulas after posting and while not as difficult as I recalled from previous attempts to modify or get to the substance of macd's code I set it aside thinking I'd get better answers here and thankfully I have. ADX is the difficult one, when I view that code there's too many diversions to make sense of it but I still plan to break it down someday. Not that it doesn't make sense but I'd like to better understand how it's calculated -- to many loopbacks and poorly named variables for my paitence. I should have easily figured out MACD if only I'd taken the time again. Believe me I've looked at it in the past just always moved onto something else. Best Regards, Mechanical Method
