LG, glad you added that because if not you would be spelling "whipsaw" for the last 9 mths or so going either direction.

Glad to hear you like those parameters and thanks for the stand alone signal reprimand or warning, it's appreciated. I looked up the formulas after posting and while not as difficult as I recalled from previous attempts to modify or get to the substance of macd's code I set it aside thinking I'd get better answers here and thankfully I have.

ADX is the difficult one, when I view that code there's too many diversions to make sense of it but I still plan to break it down someday. Not that it doesn't make sense but I'd like to better understand how it's calculated -- to many loopbacks and poorly named variables for my paitence.

I should have easily figured out MACD if only I'd taken the time again. Believe me I've looked at it in the past just always moved onto something else.
