Dennis:

We're still importing foreign skilled and unskilled labor both legal and illegal here in California. Around Northern California there is no letup for the need for both. Those that get laid off from a failing venture here may be getting a break with a better job and more money in prospect.

In the rust belt areas where older factory workers including automotive are affected in cyclical industries, it's not going to be so nice. But some of the younger ones will still move to where the jobs are. I wished it wasn't California because we're running out of space in both freeways and habitat.

To me they're (the nuvo rich) spending money like drunken sailors around here we used to say. In fact they're buying places as far as New Zealand (reports from N.Z. relatives)where our $ is double value just to get away from it all. Don't tell Mr. G. He'll call it exuberance.
