hi bob

i don't think that i stated that, simply because i almost always shut down (or restart) after end-it-all.

i use eia primarily when defragging or when installing software. and i always shut down or reboot after those tasks.

why do you ask?

btw, my post on the symantec boards drew an invalid response. <g3> yep, the tech came back with some bad info. so i posted back how wrong he was (using symantec knowledge base articles to do it), and the next thing i know, i'm getting email from a symantec R&D guy wanting to know more about the prob. i sent him some registry files and he emailed back that he would work on them last night.

this was in regards to the firewall update not prompting me to create new rules after installing the update.

anyway, the adventure continues with symantec. <g> here's the fun part.... you know i'm dual booting win2k and w98se, right? well all went exceedingly well in w98se. but not w2k. and just like i had probs installing npf on w2k, i'm now having this prob with firewall updates on w2k. i continue to maintain that symantec is stretching the truth when they say their products are fully compatible with w2k.

:)
