Thanks. CSCO stock price has a material impact on CSCO's ability to grow the business (and thus the stock price, and thus the business, and thus the stock price, and so on)... The impact hits cash flow. Which is the lifeblood of a business - as opposed to rose colored proforma earnings which is the lifeblood of the tabloids and blabber meisters. Without putting too fine a point on it, if you have to pay more taxes you have less money to grow the business. $1B buys a lot of startups these days. John.

notbullorbear, I think you missed my points. Regarding my comment about earnings - that was in response to John's comment that the reduced stock exercises will impact earnings... they don't.... at least not directly.... which is what he was attempting to prove. This is an incorrect assumption. Second, I made a point that Cisco has been overspending in order to get into new markets. I expect that given the economic conditions that Cisco will simply spend in-line with competitors which will supply a huge increase in cash flow from operations that I believe will more than make up for any cash flow reduction from tax benefits due to stock exercises. I think these two points are clear. The first one is fact, the second opinion. You can chose to disagree with my opinion but there is not need to take personal shots at me. OG
