Something for everyone For Brookelise, ok I'm not familiar with Parabolic SAR other than the canned info I've read. I'm really not a fan of binary systems - either long or short and always in, and my uneducated glance at SAR makes it seem that its binary alright, unless other rules or filters are applied. Are you suggesting that SAR can be used for trend or trend strength detection? I doubt you are suggesting that but if so would love to hear details if you have time. Plotted on following chart. intelligentspeculator.com MechanicalMethod, chart also has ADX plotted both ways, with that extra 'if' in and out.Red is unaltered, blue is modified. you can see its impact on the indicator drops out pretty quickly. Some may prefer it out. Maybe ADX 'Classic' in TS is like that, I haven't looked. Michael

Hi Brooke, When you have some free time (LOL), try testing an ADX > a break level 20, 30 etc PDI><MDI signal and use an MA cross as a filter scalping system large ma cross above small ma (anti-trend) with pdi>mdi buy signal, reverse indicators for the sell signal provides a nice scalping system. test with a predetermined scalping objective 1-20 points depending on the market you trade. trend following system then also test as a trend following system ADX> break level 20,30 etc PDI>MDI with a MA trend confirmation small MA cross above large ma = buy signal reverse code for sell signal I would list specific code but its not my idea, and unfortunately the system is sold by a company that likes to charge a lot of money for ideas like that. regards peter
