Dear Jim: I found that very hard to believe myself. Perhaps he forgets all the times his wife fills it up. The typical SUV uses 1,500 gals per year, more if it is in 4WD mode a lot (especially for "soccer" moms). True environmentalists use electric vehicles (yes, Ford makes an electric 4WD pickup truck) charged with so called "Green" electricity which is typically defined from coming from renewable resources typically hydro or wind (solar is quite rare). All else is at best a token one and at worst a big hypocrite. Pete
