Yes - they can. The best diet is to leave the table at the first indication of feeling full. Obviously these people have never heard of chocolate.

I have the original Sugar Busters book - it's really good - and was looking at the Sugar Busters Recipe book at the bookstore - but didn't buy it. It had some good recipes but all you really need to do is pick recipes that don't have sugar or starch. I think I could figure out a lot of good recipes for myself if only I had a carbo counter that distinguished between sugar and fiber instead of lumping both in as carbohydrates. Fiber doesn't really count, you can't digest it.

For example, the Sugar Busters Diet book has a recipe for ceviche. Well, I've got beaucoup recipes for ceviche already. But I wouldn't have thought of ceviche, probably, without looking at the book. So I'll get it from the library and make a note of things I can have - like celery stuffed with pimento cheese. Trout with pecans. Salad with real bleu cheese and vinaigrette.

I am craving chocolate and figured out I can make cocoa with cocoa powder, cream and artificial sweetener!

I'm not hungry on the Atkins diet but I am bored already and thinking about food all the time.

Ooooo, remember this one? The Stillman Water Diet - high protein, low fat, lots of water, nothing else.

lowcarb.org

I lost a lot of weight on that when I was young.
