Why would Rambus test SDRAM for Intel?

Rambus said they saw the results that Intel obtained.

Jim, "The P4 performance will suck on SDRAM"

Why do you believe so? SDRAM on i815 is pretty
competitive with RAMBUS 820 and even 840, not
speaking that the properly clocked 440BX
tops them all in real applications. I think the
P4 will do just fine with PC133. Of course, P4
presumably does more prefetching and speculative
execution, but the prefetching is most likely
linear (goes to adjacent address location),
so it would not engage extra latency too much.
