The idea that Leahy's voting against Ashcroft is big news is spin intended to try and sway votes to the contra side. None of us who follow politics closely expected Leahy to support Ashcroft. We are just amazed that the dems can't muster a party-line vote against him. I think you are smart enough to know the truth and care enough about your personal credibility on this thread that you would not tell us that you personally are surprised by the Leahy position. Are you surprised?
