re: AWS network rollout by Nokia - also on CDMA Some quick notes from Nokia CC Q&A: Jorma on network side stuff AWS & Nokia Networks: 1st shipments commenced December (1st phase - presumably GSM) - rounding up and speeding up in H2 but starting to ramp in Q3 (GPRS)- pretty fast rollout in 15 months - 3G (presumably EDGE) commencing in 3rd to 4th quarter. CDMA & Nokia Phones: Rather brief response to an Ed Snyder question. Said that everything looking even better than when plans were laid out at Capital Days in December. [This was summarized in Wireless week article posted here]. Expecting major promotions from major carriers particularly Verizon by end of quarter. No specific reference to Sprint PCS. No specific mention of problems with messaging in 5185i at Verizon that need to be resolved before 6185i ships to Verizon. - Eric -
