I have experienced the same problems with medicare. My in-laws were sold canes which they bought because medicare would be billed and they were not out of pocket. They accepted that this is the way these things are done. We now have 4 canes courtesy of medicare when the first one could have been used the next three times one was needed. We had to go to one parent's personal physician to insist that she be released from the hospital. They were keeping her in bed instead of getting her up and about. She was getting weaker by not walking. The doctor agreed, we started her walking and had her home in a day. Everything was fine thereafter.
