I suspect that with a new Administration Cisco can do whatever it takes to deal with Juniper. I believe they had the ability all along but realistically feared the "Microsoft treatment" by the previous politically-motivated regime. ...Cisco also introduced its ONS 15327 optical networking gear for metropolitan networks, which competes with a similar product announced by Redback Networks Inc. (NasdaqNM:RBAK - news) on Tuesday. The ONS product is a smaller version of its ONS 15454, which Lang said costs about $100,000 and of which Cisco has sold more than 20,000 units to telecommunications operators. Lang declined to confirm a report in Web-based trade publication, Light Reading, that Cisco already had $400 million in pre-orders for its products, which begin shipping on Wednesday.
