I do not claim to have studied the UAW and it's contracts with the automakers. But this statement struck a cord which I would like to address.

Would the UAW accept stock options for it's members in lieu of increased wages? This would not only put the good of the company above the good of the individual but also give the workers an added incentive to increase productivity.

Just a thought.
