Here's the deal....The large brokerages have large herds of retail brokers who can only solicit stock orders on stocks the firms recommend. Soooo when new recommendations come down the pipe they hype them to the brokers, who in turn solicit clients. Of course, when the stocks go south and the firm wants to protect its back side, the analyst issue downgrades. Now the brokers are left out swinging in the wind so guess what they do? ...yep tell clients to sell.

So the bottom line is there is alot of solicited retail buying on analyst recommendations.
