Well, they shouldn't, IMO, but they will. A bone to an avid voting block. It's a power thing.

But I abhor many things my tax dollars are spent on. I abhor slaughterhouses, and the commercial farming of animals solely to slaughter them for food-

I don't abhor slaughterhouses, or eating meat, but I do object to government money subsidizeing it.
