KIS, I agree -- I think TMTA was ___ from the start. They may be bought out, but at a much lower price

Talk about bad timing:

If you guys want to make a quick killing on a short, I suggest Transmeta. Yesterday in a
fairly obscure bit of news, Intel announced that it is now shipping a 1/2 watt version of its
PIII cpu for notebooks that uses less power than the transmeta chip. Many techies on the
message boards pretty much said Transmeta is dead.

Well today, Merrill Lynch came out of nowhere with a STRONG BUY on TMTA. In other
words, they have inventory they need to unload to bagholders before the news becomes
widespread.

Transmeta is up 10% today.
