The North Slope holds proven reserves of 35 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, but it's believed that vast amounts more remain to be found. The United States currently consumes about 21.5 trillion cubic feet of gas per year, with demand expected to grow by about 2 percent annually for the next two decades.

James,

I have been following this for a little while. There seems to be a concensus that there is significantly more than 35 trillion cubic feet of natural gas in the North Slope. No one has thrown out an exact number but I believe the best guess is about 150 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. That is only 6 years worth at current consumption and expected increased consumption.
