Those are all reasons for concern, you are quite right. I think you are correct to object to mandatory sentencing. I also dislike the reach of the confiscation laws. I think that the harshness of the crack laws was not hypocritical, but occasioned by alarm at the violence associated with crack gangs, and the danger of use. Nevertheless, the disparate impact is reason for concern, and the matter should be revisited. A lot depends, in one's attitude, on one's conjecture about how much more drug use will ensue with legalization. I assume that there will be much greater use, and therefore much more abuse, and also an even larger black market for minors........
