I've had enough experience arguing with people who think removing something 1/100th of an inch long from the lining of the womb of a woman who doesn't want to have a child is "a horrible human rights abuse." You guys never think that pacifists, who believe that ALL war constitutes "a horrible human rights abuse," killing as it does men, women and children (somewhat more complex organisms than the microscopic cell clusters you care so deeply about until they're born) should be have a right to be exempt from funding wars. No, in my experience you guys always have something to say like, "Wars [or.. or... or...] are partially an exception to my idea because...."

Wars are completely an exception, I think. So is the death penalty, usually. The sizable minority who oppose it must be taxed for it, and see others taxed for it.

There are lots of exceptions to your concern for human rights, I'll wager. (And "maybe" the government shouldn't be funding animal research, or it shouldn't?)

And you aren't appalled that pacifists have to pay for wars. You think that's fine.

Because what motivates you appears to be an entirely religious notion that you feel quite comfortable forcing down the throats of others who don't share it, if it is in your power to do so, if you share the tendencies of many others who take your position.

Is my suspicion.

But then maybe you can set me straight.
