This is where I can tell you that you have no idea what you are talking about.....D. Shalala, a Clinton cabinet member, was my professor senior year, second semester. I have never seen an 8 o'clock as full as hers was...and everyone was a second semester senior. She was by far the best professor I have had both as a grad and undergrad. If she had an ideology, it was to do the very best job she could....and I am sure she did as a cabinet member.

I'm sure there are alot of people who know John Ashcroft and think he is a great guy. He has probably performed previous jobs with a high level of competence and tried to do the best he could as well. It doesn't change the fact that they both have ideological ideas that some people are opposed to.

You conservatives are so full of anger, its turned to sh*t.

And ofcourse the liberals here are always completly calm with no angry feelings about conservatives and their ideas. :)

Dear Ted:

1) The ban is in the promotion of one over all the others. Promoting all (including Atheists), is not banned otherwise the churches would have to pay taxes. Now do you get it?

2) Yes, they time spent in deployment was getting to the point of feeling like full military operations without a war on (lots of costs and little benefits). Lot's of babysitting jobs that are more trouble than they are worth. Career military wants a better reason than "let's have an military action because I'm down in the polls". THe military was being downsized but they had to do twice as much. Why put up with it, when you get more by resigning or not reenlisting and go into the private sector? Did you not hear this last year how recruitment was still lousy and this has been the trend for the last few years.

3) Bush did not rent the governors mansion bedroom for campaign contributions, that was a typical just starting with Clinton act. He didn't sell out to foreign governments for campaign cash. Many of his cabinet were indicted for ethics violations and outright criminal behaviour. But, Clinton did promise to run a clean government and proceeded to run a very corrupt one from the very beginning.

4) One clean position does not make an administration clean. It usually takes only a few bad apples to make it all look dirty or have the head honcho be bad. Besides, Bush did appoint Minter Transportation Secretary.

5) Now you will see what happens when practical people run government. Experience is a valid and valuable thing to look for in leaders and cabinet posts. If Bush gets even some of the things done during his first 4 years, you may not get the Presidency back for a very long time. If he gets it all done, you won't ever see it back until, you get rid of the extreme left and form the moderate party with the absolutely needed name change.

Pete
