First, the standard downpayment is 20%, which would have been in excess of half a million dollars. Second, as I indicated, most of the value of the trust was tied up in the ranch, plus things like a retirement portfolio. Whether there were an amount sufficient without liquidating something they did not care to was a serious question.......
