well, there have been instances in the past (not under Greenboink though) when the Fed deliberately provoked recessions to bring inflation under control. Greenspud (soon to be known under his new moniker 'Redboink') only threw easy money at one genuine recession thus far, which he brought on by mistake, and the arrival of which was only partly his to avert anyway. the only time he tried to fight inflation he hastened the arrival of a BK (in '87). ever since he camps next to a giant printing press, and has the 'print now' button depressed even when he sleeps.
