I agree with everything you say about Dell factually. I don't agree with your conclusion. Is it possible Dell gets all the R&D it needs from intel? As long as Dell can produce boxes of whatever type more cheaply than the competition they will have a place. Somebody has to make money selling commodities. Future growth as good as before? IMHO the jury is still out.

You would be surprised, althought dell is considered a box maker, they do have a patent portfolio.
