I have noticed the economy in the US today is often compared to Japan ten years ago on this thread. A question I have is the real estate market in Tokyo has gone nowhere but south over the last decade, and it still makes San Fran prices look like the a mid-west town. Thus relating prices per sq foot for real estate, loans and leverage in Japan, they were unrealistic with the rest of the world at that time, and only now are just comparable with other international locations eg] London.
So is their bubble really a true comparison???
