Ted,

I meant Republican/Democrat mix. But to answer your question why did he and his campaign crew propose it if there was no intention of doing it.

Apparently a number of Democrats declined the offer (which is not surprising since the election was not decided yet), and later on, it was just too late. Anyway, I was under the impression that there was at least 1 democrat in the cabinet. (I don't know who though)
