EMC chairman bullish on international storage market
BOSTON, Jan 31 (Reuters) - The chairman of EMC Corp (NYSE:EMC - news), the world's No. 1 data storage company, on Wednesday said he sees no evidence that spending on storage is going to slow down, despite the cooling U.S. economy.

EMC Executive Chairman Michael Ruettgers said the market for refrigerator-sized machines that store digital information is even more robust overseas. He reaffirmed the Hopkinton, Mass.-based company is on track to generate $12 billion in revenue this year, compared with $8.87 billion last year.

``We have more opportunity (in international markets) than we can touch right now,'' Ruettgers told investors at a Merrill Lynch storage conference in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Shares of EMC closed down $2.76, or 3.5 percent, to $75.99 in Wednesday trade on the New York Stock Exchange.
