OT EIX & PCG Let em Hang out to dry!

I hope these dodo's in CA. dont get their own interests confused with those of EIX & PCG. These two entities made thier choices in CA and gambled incorrectly. While thier regulated businesses were crumbling they we throwing money at assets around the globe, EIX more so than PCG who I believe concentrated more in the USA.

They took allot of money out of CA through dividends and neglected the source of these dividends. Granted if they paid more attention to the disaster looming over the horizon, the State may still not have acted accordingly. But we will never know.

So IMO the State has to look out for #1 first and foremost and if this helps out EIX & PCG a bit so be it. But they should let EIX & PCG bondholders and shareholders bear as much pain as they can tolerate without going belly up. How to do this is another question.

Thanks for the CA update.

At first I thought, "What a relief to see a little sanity, even though the craziness is thousands of miles away from me." But then I saw the REASONS given for defeating the the measure: that it would "raise rates." One hope that was political cunning, but given the ad hoc maneuvering, I doubt that the thinking was that fast.

As I got out of bed this morning I was already boring my wife by making comparisons with CA, saying, "It's as if we took out a mortgage to pay our utilities bills."

I guess if it were West Virginia that was in trouble I would be more sympathetic. But here is an immensely wealthy state that is poor-mouthing about raising electrical rates to pay for what they are consuming.

Just be glad they are not an independent country. That's how wars get started. All they would need is a Saddam to lead them out of their energy crisis.
