So I choose to produce no children of my own

I would have suggested one as perhaps a better alternative.

I don't think it is any more right in our society to force a woman to carry to term a fetus that she's ill equipped to bear or to care for after birth because of one person's sense of truth than it is to force her to abort because of another's.

I don't think it is right in our society for women to kill children (or usu. have someone else kill the child for them) because of their personal sense of truth. All decisions about what is right and wrong and what should be legal and should not be legal rest on personal senses of truth. When we are lucky there is a broad consensus about this truth. For example there is a broad consensus that people should not go on a killing spree through a kindergarden class with a shotgun and that if they do such a thing they should be punished in some way and kept away from society. However this idea is still based on a personal sense of truth, even if it is one that 99.999% of all people agree with.

Tim
