Fed adds $5.485 bln in reserves via overnight repos

NEW YORK, Feb 1 (Reuters) - The Federal Reserve said on Thursday it added $5.485 billion in temporary reserves to the banking system through a round of overnight fixed system repurchase agreements.

Earlier, the Fed added $4.0 billion in reserves via seven-day repos and $2.0 billion in reserves through 28-day repos.

The Fed accepted the following collateral for the overnight
repos:
-- $3.650 billion in Treasuries, stop out 5.44 percent,
-- $1.585 billion in agencies, stop out 5.50 percent,
-- $0.250 billion in MBS, stop out 5.53 percent.
The Fed accepted the following collateral for the seven-day
repos:
-- $1.875 billion in Treasuries, stop out 5.40 percent,
-- $2.125 billion in agencies, stop out 5.47 percent.
The Fed accepted the following collateral for the 28-day
repos:
-- $1.375 billion in Treasuries, stop out 5.38 percent,
-- $0.225 billion in agencies, stop out 5.45 percent,
-- $0.400 billion in MBS, stop out 5.49 percent.
At the time of the operation, federal funds were trading at

5-9/16 percent, above the Fed's new 5.50 percent target.
