Iso, >> What sort of %age do use generally use on a mental stop loss if a position goes against you? <<

I use 8% for ST trading. I have a different view with LT or intermediate term trades. If a stock drops 15% and I don't add to it, I sell it. It doesn't make sense to me to hold a stock down 15% or more, in hopes of it coming back, and not add to it. If it's going to come back, I might as well make money on it as opposed to breaking even.

LT runts are different. I close my eyes and wait. PVII is an example.

Iso, >> Looks like, if you're not there already, you're well on your way to being one of the best ST traders here. <<

Ha! I'm still making too many mistakes to claim any fame. Although my port is near an alltime high, mistakes have caused me from "incredible" gains.

I should have sold INSP on the news in after-hours while I was up 33% for a two day hold. Instead, I got greedy and thought the open would drive it higher, it didn't.

I bought RFMD two days ago and it was up nicely yesterday. I should have sold and didn't. I made the right move on SSTI and NANO yesterday. I can buy them back cheaper.

I'm not whining about my mistakes, I expect to make more of them. The key for me is to maintain what works, and learn from what doesn't.
