and what do you believe the point of printing is?

do you believe there is a one for one correspondence of printing to the value of stocks? i.e. that the banks simply invest it in stocks or pass it on to people that invest it in stocks?

tony dwyer is suggesting today that the fed really wants the market to go up so as not to discourage the consumer. that the real economy is their mission and the stock market is of great impact to consumer spending patterns.

one thing that troubles me about this thread is that let's say the fed simply prints because it's crooked and it wants stocks to go up because fed governors and their cronies have big portfolios...which yields to the conclusion that "we're doomed" and sarcastic comments about this unethical printing behavior.

if that's what's going on, we should be buying rather than selling/complaining that the game ain't fair. if the marketplace is rigged in a certain direction, we should either be investing in that direction or not playing.
