biz.yahoo.com I love it. AWE signs up this service to generate more minutes of use on the CDPD netowrk at 19.2k bps. But what this does is use a service which is getting less and less bandwidth all the time. As the ANALOG network of AT&T (yes, after being in use for more than 3 years it is still MOSTLY analog), the CDPD is designed to sniff out unused analog channels (or TDMA) and use them to send data. Adding minutes of use on CDPD will only make the queuing worse, especially since CDPD can't really get that much capacity anyway. I guess this is to show that AT&T can muster up the 3G services. Too bad they don;t have a data channel to support it. This is nothing more than a marketing ploy to show that AT&T has covered yet another check mark in the service category, but wihtout the ability to actually provide the service they are talking about. When are these guys going to actually DO SOMETHING real and stop using hyperbole and marketing PR to try to bullshit their way into existance?
