RESEARCH ALERT - UBS's Kerschner likes Merck, Dell, Intel
NEW YORK (Reuters) - UBS Warburg's top stock picker on Thursday added Merck & Co. Inc. (NYSE:MRK - news), Dell Computer Corp. (NasdaqNM:DELL - news) and Intel Corp. (NasdaqNM:INTC - news) to his list of favorite investment names.

Edward Kerschner, chief global strategist of UBS Warburg, added the companies, large-capitalization giants in their respective industries, to the firm's ``Highlighted Stocks'' list. Merck and Intel are among the 30 companies that make up the Dow Jones Industrial average.

Additional details were not available, a spokesperson for the firm said.

Merck currently trades at around $82 per share. The 52-week range for the pharmacautical company's stock is $52.00 to $96.625.

Intel ended Wednesday's Nasdaq trading session at $37 per share. The 52-week low is $29.8125 and the high is $75.8125.

Dell closed the prior Nasdaq session at $26.125. The 52-week range is $16.25 to $59.6875.
