Inflation is not a short-term threat. But with the Fed easing aggressively a lot earlier in the cycle than it has in the past plus the prospect of further weakness in the dollar I have no hesitation in saying that inflation will pick up much sooner in the next economic upswing than most expect.

What this means investment-wise is that commodity-related and inflation-hedge stocks -- which normally do not catch fire until the market and economy have been rebounding for several years -- probably will be among the strongest performers from the "get go" in the bull market I expect to commence late this year.
