I'm out of SI prison and see there's a bit of an argument going on here. Dave, your contributions to this thread are exemplary and I always learn something from your posts. The prevailing opinion here is that we are all indeed responsible for our options trades and that not being cognizant of the variables of volatility, delta, etc. is a quick ticket to bankruptcy. While I concede that there is some wiggle room for MM's in option pricing (particularly the NDX), to blame the MM's for our trading mistakes is unhelpful at best.

gee,ya think? It's a great game and I love all aspects of it. Cold water is a positive. I love it that much more when I get the price heavy.
You sound like you really know your stuff but that doesn't mean you get to create your own selective market reality. But I suppose one has to pay big dues to see the market like you do.
